Become a Retail Comms Executive
As our Retail Comms Executive for Retail Operations, you will be instrumental in driving our retail strategy forward through effective and engaging operational communications with our retail colleagues. You will own the store communication calendar and provide our retail colleagues with engaging weekly operational updates, news, product promotions, recognition, celebrations, and strategic business updates. You will manage and refine our communication strategies for our retail teams, and in combination with your inspirational written copy, and beautiful graphic design skills, you’ll ensure our audience understand our operations and are inspired by our exceptional products and campaigns.
Your Mission
- Create and manage content for retail newsletters, campaign launch packs, merchandising guidance, and other operational updates to keep our retail colleagues up to date in a fun and engaging way.
- Own the Store Communications Planner and support the Retail Operations and Planning Manager to plan activity and communications accordingly.
- Work with stakeholders and colleagues across the business to collate content ensuring clarity, consistency, tone of voice, and quality.
- Use your graphic design and copywriting skills to bring our fun tone of voice and brand to life for our Crafty, Caring, and Can-Do colleagues.
- Collaborate with the Internal Communications and People team (Support Centre and Distribution Centre) to support the delivery of the Communications and Engagement Strategy and calendar of campaigns and events for retail colleagues.
- Ensure consistent tone of voice and design with the creation of communications and presentations for our retail conferences, including cascade packs to ensure key messages land with our store teams.
- Design communications and posters for key moments in our retail calendar, including team incentives, colleague competitions, and infographics.
- Partner with the Learning & Development team to identify key product insights and knowledge to share with store teams, elevating the customer experience across all touchpoints.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of our communications and channels, sharing your findings and suggestions with the Retail and Central Operations team as appropriate.
Skills/Behaviours That Will Set You Apart
- Excellent writing, editing, and copywriting skills with the ability to adapt tone of voice dependent on audience, with flawless grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Content creation – including email, newsletters, intranet content, videos, and presentations. From InDesign, Canva and PowerPoint, to video editing and Microsoft Office
- A people-led approach – you make everything clear for our colleagues by explaining the why, how, what, and when.
- Creative flair and design skills – you keep things interesting through your creative graphic designs that complement our messages to make it pop.
- Calm and Pragmatic – you’re agile and quick off the mark with in-flight adjustments that may be needed as we develop our trading plans.
- Project management skills – Your comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the organisation.
- Knowledge of best practices for internal communications.
