We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Deputy Learning Director of Maths to play a key role in the strategic and day-to-day leadership of a successful Mathematics department. The successful candidate will support the Learning Director in raising achievement and driving forward innovation in teaching and learning, while also delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. Beginning September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding classroom practitioner with proven leadership potential who is ready to take the next step in their career.
Duties as Deputy Learning Director of Maths:
- Support the Learning Director in leading and managing the Maths department, including curriculum development, assessment and staff mentoring.
- Assist in monitoring and raising student progress and attainment through data analysis and targeted interventions.
- Model outstanding teaching practice and contribute to the professional development of staff within the department.
- Lead on a specific area of departmental improvement (e.g. Key Stage coordination, numeracy across the curriculum, or assessment strategies).
- Support the coordination of departmental resources, schemes of work, and enrichment activities.
Ideal Deputy Learning Director of Maths:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Mathematics or a related field.
- A proven track record of excellent classroom teaching and measurable impact on student outcomes.
- Experience in supporting or leading on curriculum planning and data-driven improvement strategies.
