Accounts Assistant. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accounts Assistant to join our finance team based at our site in Normanton, West Yorkshire. This pivotal role involves managing various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting the overall financial health of the organisation. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of accounting software and a solid background in financial services, with a focus on accounts payable. Duties Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice processing and payment reconciliation. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely data entry into accounting systems. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports to support management decision-making. Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and provide financial insights. Conduct regular audits of financial transactions to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations. Support month-end closing activities and assist with year-end audits as required. Provide training and guidance to junior staff members on accounting procedures and software usage. Qualifications Proven experience in an accounts assistant role or similar position within the financial services sector. Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, Workday, or PeopleSoft is highly desirable. Strong data entry skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and generate reports. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
