Your new opportunity
Quarriers What If Male service office is based in the Southside of Glasgow we are recruiting Relief Project Workers to join our dedicated team who deliver support to young males between the ages of 18-25 across their own tenancies in Glasgow, we offer city wide support. Our service is a unique housing support service which provides intensive support to people who have experienced significant trauma in their young lives and who have been affected by childhood experiences, including loss, disruption, and rejection, and alcohol / substance abuse, resulting in long-term effects on their behaviour, health and learning.
As a Relief Project Worker, you will be supporting people transitioning into independent living within their local communities and providing practical support in all aspects of everyday living including emotional/therapeutic support when required. A key part of the role will be to ensure trust is developed with each individual and that you are a reliable consistent support to the young men to allow them to gain a sense of security and resilience.
Working pattern: Shift times are between 8am to 4pm & 2pm to 10pm. As this is a relief contract hours will be dependent on the needs of the service.
What you will need to bring to the role
- Proven experience of supporting people who are homeless and providing intensive support to people with complex needs.
- Compassion, understanding and ability to work under pressure.
- Confidence and ability to work with people 1:2:1 and in a community-based setting.
- Ability to identify and respond affectively to individual emotional support needs.
- Enthusiasm and self-motivation.
- Excellent problem solver who is driven by positive outcomes.
- Resilient, reliable and an excellent listener.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Driving licence is essential as you will be support people across Glasgow within their own tenancies, you will also be required to have Business Car Insurance.
