Shire Healthcare are recruiting for a Senior Assistant Psychologist to work within a male inpatient rehab service based in Birmingham.

Role snapshot:

  • The candidate appointed will work within an MDT, and provide psychological assessments, formulations and 1-2-1 therapeutic interventions (under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist).
  • You will also engage in research-related work, and conduct research projects.
  • You will support the delivery and development of staff training initiatives.
  • You will contribute to service developments.
  • The successful candidate will plan and coordinate therapeutic groups and attend MDT meetings.

Contract type: fixed term contract, 2 years

Hours: full time

Salary: Starting from £23,675 FTE, salary offered will be dependent on experience

Experience required:

  • You must hold a Psychology degree with a minimum of 2:1 honours, recognised by BPS.
  • You need to have at least 12 months of experience working with severe mental health and/or learning disabilities, as well as physical health issues or cognitive impairments.
