Can you bring skills, flexibility, creativity and a team-working ethos to a small well-regarded landscape design and environmental management practice located in North Wales, 30 minutes from Chester? We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Senior or Principal Landscape Architect to be based in our Ruthin Office, Denbighshire to provide support to the wider multi-disciplinary team, act as Environmental Coordinator and lead on Landscape elements of infrastructure and other projects. The role is office-based but will involve working away from home, on some high profile and challenging projects.
Richards, Moorehead and Laing Ltd, a multi-disciplinary practice established in 1984 has a wide portfolio of work in infrastructure projects, renewable energy projects and residential and leisure development. Our team is composed of Landscape Architects, Environmental Practitioners, and Ecologists.
Candidates are expected to be chartered by a relevant professional institution and have relevant first and second degrees. The following qualities/experience are essential:
- Chartered member of the Landscape Institute
- A sound understanding of environmental management and mitigation on major infrastructure projects.
- Understanding of the benefits of working collaboratively to obtain the best environmental and sustainable outcome for the project.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Determination to see tasks through to completion, with excellent planning and organisation skills.
- Must hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
- Welsh language skills would be advantageous but not essential.

Our office is based in Ruthin, Denbighshire, from which we operate UK wide. We envisage this role being primarily office based. Hybrid working available with a minimum of 3 days of working week in the office. Ruthin is 30 minutes from Chester, and around an hour from Liverpool and Manchester. If outdoor activities are part of your interests, then Ruthin offers excellent access to Snowdonia and the growing adventure sports scene.
