Senior Bid Manager (Municipal Waste)

Salary: £-Attractive salary plus package including company car and bonus

Our client, a leading waste management operator, is looking to recruit a Senior Bid Manager to join its successful municipal waste team. Based at the company’s Head Office in the East Midlands and reporting to the Head of Development, you will be responsible for managing bidding activities and teams from initial opportunity assessment through to contract handover.

You will play a fundamental role in developing, negotiating, tendering, agreeing and implementing new and renewed service contracts for municipal collection, streetscene, grounds maintenance, treatment or disposal opportunities through a variety of tender routes as identified in prevalent legislation.

Candidate Requirements:

• Highly educated with a proven track record in similar role demonstrating successful delivery of substantive projects/programmes.
• At least five years’ experience of working in an organisation with a professional and disciplined approach to tendering and project development, preferably within a Waste Management environment. This will include a proven record in the successful delivery of project development programmes to time, budget and specification.
• Experienced in the preparation of project proposals (technical, financial and legal) and documentation to a high standard.
• Comprehensive understanding of prevalent procurement legislation and routes to market.
• Good commercial awareness with strong profit orientation. Numerate and financially astute.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and develop successful long-term relationships with local authorities and governing bodies.
• Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
