This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic analytical scientist to join a trace analysis team at a young and vibrant company. The successful candidate will join a team that utilises state-of-the-art LC-MS and GC-MS instrumentation in order to provide key information for projects at all stages of pharmaceutical development.

In this hands-on, lab-based position the successful candidate will primarily undertake trace analysis of mutagenic impurities and extractable and leachables in samples by mass spectrometry (LC-MS ICP-MS and GC-MS). The person selected will work with a high level of autonomy and contribute to analytical projects (from sample preparation through to final report) as well as leading the development of trace method development, validation and analysis for projects, contributing to reports, and overseeing completion of work packages.

Experience with LC-MS and/or GC-MS systems (we use Agilent instruments) is preferred with an emphasis on structural elucidation. We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • BSc in Chemistry or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Hands-on experience with LC-MS and/or GC-MS
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve with a track record of generating high quality data and reports
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Previous practical experience using ICP-MS
  • Experience optimising and/or developing chromatographic and instrument methods
  • Experience in quantitative trace analysis by MS

This job posting is very short - LinkedIn advertisement is only visible until Sunday April 20th. Only applicants with the right to work in the UK will be considered as we are a very small company and cannot support a work visa at this time.
