At Study Group Digital Learning (SGDL) we deliver our own portfolio of Digital Academic Programmes at International Foundation and Pre-Masters levels. We also support the work of the broader Study Group network by delivering Digital English Programmes and digital student experience products.
The Centre Director SGDL Programmes will provide the leadership and vision to deliver excellent student outcomes; quality assurance and enhancement that is commended by the QAA. You will also support the development of an innovative and quality assured digital pedagogy within SGDL Programme delivery.
You will be responsible for leading our SGDL Programme team. Reporting to Director Digital Learning, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders and be accountable for students achieving the progression requirements for recognising partner universities.
The Centre Director is accountable for all academic and operational outcomes of the Study Group Digital Learning programmes, and will work alongside the Director Digital Learning to support the relationships with SGDL programme partners.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Leadership and management of the SGDL Senior Leadership Programme team
- Oversight of excellent teaching, learning opportunities, academic standards and student outcomes, ensuring all regulatory obligations are met in SGDL Programmes
- Delivery of an efficient and profitable operation in SGDL Programmes
- Safeguarding of students
- Leading the wider SGDL Programme team ensuring that people managers are leading their teams consistently, effectively, and compassionately.
- Measuring and tracking people’s contribution to the company objectives and developing their potential.
- Encouraging adherence to diversity, inclusion and belonging in everything we do.
- Creating an environment that attracts and maintains and develops people in whatever role they do.
- Recruiting the highest calibre of people ensuring adherence to safeguarding and hiring compliance in collaboration with central teams.
- Maximise profit, ensuring that the SGDL Programmes are run as efficiently as possible as well as helping identify opportunities for new products and solutions.
- Collaborating with central teams to ensure that the management information data for profit and loss is both accurate and timely.
- Creating an environment where all staff are treated with respect and dignity and that they treat students in the same manner.
- Ensuring teaching is effective and efficient. Observations are conducted to ensure the quality of learning, teaching and assessment in accordance with the strategy and guidance.
- Maintaining an environment where all staff have an opportunity to contribute to the success of the SGDL Programmes and have opportunities for development.
- Student attendance and engagement with their studies is high and if not, robust procedures are in place to rectify.
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor's degree – Essential
- Leadership and/or management training or demonstrable experience of leading an organisation of similar size and complexity for a minimum of 3 years.
- Teaching qualification – Essential.
- Leading in an academic environment
- Developing of annual budgets and managing finances against an agreed budget
- Planning and running complex education courses and programmes
- Stakeholder management and engagement in complex environments
- Involvement in Key Project(s)
