The Opportunity
The Urban Energy + Integrated Energy Systems team in London is recruiting a senior consultant to support projects developing integrated energy solutions for a sustainable future.
Our multidisciplinary team includes engineers, scientists, policymakers, and planners. We work on strategies, studies, and plans from building to city scale, involved in planning, design, delivery, and operational optimisation.
We collaborate with local, regional, and national governments, energy companies, developers, C40 Cities, EBRD, and others, both in the UK and internationally.
Recent projects include: low carbon energy masterplans, whole energy system decarbonisation strategies, urban energy infrastructure schemes, and electricity supply advice for large load customers.
As an energy consultant, you will work alongside a diverse team, requiring knowledge in energy and the built environment, along with strong analysis and communication skills.
You will use and develop digital tools for data analysis, modelling, and strategy development.
Is this role right for you?
We seek candidates with:
- A qualification in engineering, physics, or similar, with an electrical focus.
- Intent to gain chartered status with a professional institution.
- Knowledge or ambition to learn about energy infrastructure, decarbonisation, and related fields; familiarity with electrical infrastructure and renewable energy systems is a plus.
- Skills in data analysis, modelling, and software packages like Excel, Amtech, PVSyst, IES, ArcGIS/QGIS, SQL, and some coding experience.
- Familiarity with current climate and energy standards, policies, and legislation.
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement, presentations, and technical reports.
