Sterling Recruitment Services are looking to recruit an Office Manager for our clients engineering facility based in Billingham. The role will be primarily working with the Purchasing team and will be responsible for the day to day running of the office.

Main duties of the role:

  • Manage end-to-end purchasing processes including supplier selection, negotiation, and performance evaluation.
  • Point of contact for all purchasing related queries in the UK such as Vendor on-boarding, creation and management of purchase orders and procurement processes.
  • Monitor and improve supplier performance with a focus on cost, quality, delivery, and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Work with various Departments within the Company to organise and ensure timely delivery of goods and services required in the UK.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, and Finance to ensure purchasing activities align with business objectives.
  • Review and manage spend and identify opportunities for cost improvements.
  • Maintain effective communications with all stakeholders and handling discrepancies and returns with suppliers.
  • Support with maintaining Quality records and documentation.
  • Support Accounts with invoicing and ensuring timely payment of invoices to our sub-contractors and from our clients and supporting month end reporting.
  • Support Operations, Health and Safety and Logistics teams with processes, reports and documentation.
  • Responsible for day to day running of the office to a high standard.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of working in a similar role in purchasing, procurement, or Operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Good organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and the ability to handle multiple requests from across several areas.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of operating IT systems i.e. Microsoft packages.
