The predicted salary is between 28800 - 43200 £ per year.

This role will involve supporting the claims handling function to ensure that MPS provide an excellent member first service. You will be joining a team of Claims Assistants to support file handlers with managing their caseloads, as well as managing your own by supporting our members through the preliminary stages of a claim.

This is a ‘hybrid working’ role and would require the successful applicant(s) to attend the office typically 1-2 days per week.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with members, claimant’s solicitors and other third parties to obtain information at the outset of a new matter and through the lifetime of a case; ensuring all relevant documentation and information has been provided to enable investigations and next steps.
  • Take telephone calls from members, claimants’ solicitors and other third parties.
  • Drafting and sending documents such as court documents, letters to members, claimant’s solicitors, panel representatives and external 3rd parties.
  • Triage incoming correspondence to proactively identify items that need immediate attention or a prioritised response (e.g. proceedings, other case types etc.) and escalate these to the appropriate team member for action.
  • Review records to ensure full disclosure and prepare chronologies of records, case summaries, case reviews in accordance with applicable process/guidance/terms and conditions.
  • Other case management admin and ad hoc tasks as necessary.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to demonstrate empathy and convey information both clearly and effectively, in writing and when speaking with others.
  • Able to work within a team, you are a valuable member who effectively contributes to the group’s success.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail, being skilled at producing work to a high standard at a fast pace.
  • Understand the importance of protecting sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Able to manage difficult conversations and escalate the matter appropriately.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and maintain an organised system for case files and deadlines.
  • Proactive and able to work individually with minimal supervision.
  • Competent IT skills, including basic knowledge of Microsoft office and windows software.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
