We are looking for a Civil Design Engineer with strong water industry experience to join a busy and growing team.
Role Overview:
- Location: Manchester – Office-based (5 days a week, with hybrid working after 3 months)
- Contract: 6+ Months
- IR35 Status: Outside IR35
- Rate: Open
- Sector: Water
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, high-quality civil design solutions across the water sector
- Identify efficient design options through scope reviews and site visits
- Lead and mentor CAD technicians, junior designers and graduates
- Prepare design risk assessments, specifications and reports
- Ensure designs align with technical standards and client requirements
- Manage design changes and document accordingly
- Estimate design hours and support project planning
- Present designs at technical meetings (ALMs, KMs etc.)
What we are looking for:
- Minimum 10 years’ civil design experience within the water industry
- Strong knowledge of both clean and wastewater systems
- Graduate, HND or equivalent experience
- Chartered status is desirable
- Good understanding of construction methods and materials
- Proficient in engineering drawing practices and design software
- Excellent communication and technical leadership skills
- Strong problem solver with a hands-on, proactive approach
