The Software Certification Engineer will lead the software certification efforts for certification planning as well as regulatory compliance oversight for assigned projects and products for all of Aviation Systems. Our Systems business comprises a wide cross section of aviation products which includes power generation, power distribution, navigation, cockpit displays, computing and networking, ignition systems, sensors, and propellers.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Support programs in determining product certification strategy and certification basis
- Support compliance planning and determination of means of compliance
- Support / contribution to creation of cohesive project plans
- Review of development artefacts, where applicable
- Perform certification audit pre-assessments both of internal projects and external suppliers
- Audit project / product artifacts and verification activities to assess compliance with the certification basis
- Support to Customer AR / Regulatory Authority audits
- Support and collaboration with Integrated Project Teams to resolve audit Findings/Actions/Observations
- Support to / participation in industry working groups
Required Qualifications
- Software development and/or certification experience in a RTCA/DO-178B or C environment
- Experience of demonstrating compliance to certification regulations
Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. Please note that in the event that BPSS clearance cannot be obtained, you may not be eligible for the role and/or any offer of employment may be withdrawn on grounds of national security.
