We are recruiting a highly motivated and experienced Associate Building Surveyor to manage and lead a new team of Building Surveyors in the South of England.

This role involves team leadership, business development, and professional/project surveying work. It offers an opportunity for the right candidate to build their own team, client base, and workload, with support from established teams in the North.

Job Description

What you\’ll be doing :

1. Team Leadership:
   • Build, manage, and lead a team of Building Surveyors, ensuring effective collaboration with existing teams in the North.
   • Provide mentorship and line management to junior surveyors, fostering their professional growth.
2. Business Development:
   • Identify and develop new business opportunities, including preparing bids.
   • Prepare fee proposals and introduce new clients to Capita\’s services.
   • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
3. Professional & Project Surveying Work:
   • Undertake building surveys, party wall work, dilapidations, fire safety advice, and reinstatement cost assessments, depending on experience.
   • Manage and deliver projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet client requirements and are within budget and timeframes.
4. Financial Management:
   • Manage monthly fee targets to achieve financial goals.

What We\’re Looking For

• Professional qualifications such as RICS, CIOB, or similar, including a degree in Building Surveying or related discipline.
• Proven post-qualification experience in building surveying.
• Experience in line management and mentoring.
• Track record in business development and client management.
• Ability to build and maintain good relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
