Experienced Tax Senior / Manager required to join a growing Accountancy Practice based in Hertford, Hertfordshire. This is a full-time, permanent position, Monday - Friday 09.00 - 17.30, which offers remote working after a successful probation period. This is a hands-on tax role, looking after a portfolio of clients, who are predominantly personal tax based, with an element of corporation tax. The practice is looking for someone to eventually take over the Tax department and will offer study support, flexibility, and a very competitive salary.

Responsibilities:

  • The tax candidate would be required to take on 400-500 personal tax returns with minimal supervision as part of the tax team.
  • This is very much a client-facing role and the Tax Senior would be expected to handle a portfolio of clients.
  • You would also assist with P11d processing and if possible cover payroll when holiday cover is needed.
  • There is some room for accounts work too moving forward, but at the moment it is very much a general role in the tax team working alongside two other members of staff to look after around 900 personal tax returns and 350 CT600s with the support of the partners.
  • The practice is very much a training firm and would support the right candidate with ATT/CTA ACCA studies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Qualified by experience within a tax role, or working towards ACCA/CTA/ATT (or of course qualified).
  • 5+ years' experience within a similar role.
  • Mixed tax experience including personal & Corporation tax.
  • Full driver's license and own vehicle.
  • Excellent teamwork/communication skills.
  • Flexibility for the role to be carried out within 4 or 5 days.
  • Parking onsite.
  • On-going progression and development and study support.
