About St Ann's CofE Church: St Ann’s is a very diverse church, pulling across different ages, social and ethnic groups. We have been thinking about how to celebrate that and commemorate our community at this moment in time. One idea is of a photo gallery of the current church. This is a conscious shift away from the Victorian mausoleum aspects of our church building which has a number of memorials to dead relatives of past priests. So we will celebrate the living. Having spoken to a photo-journalist, the ask would be to document every aspect of the church day from behind the scenes, capturing both the solemn and joyful aspects of our work. It is particularly precious for us right now, as we have a number of older people who we fear will not be with us in five or ten years' time. Taking their pictures now is more joyful than a series of further plaques going up the church wall. Our understanding is that it would be a very valuable research study piece from your perspective. We are in your hands as to how many times you would visit our church, but perhaps once to see how we are before returning a second or even third time.

Main Duties: Document every aspect of the church day from behind the scenes, including people laying out communion, attending Sunday services, and socializing afterwards.

What will the volunteering role offer the student and what will they learn while they are with you? Wonderful experience of photo-journalism. Also, a chance to take creative ownership as we would very much be led by you.
