Installation Electrician - The Role and Responsibilities:
- As an Installation Electrician, you will work on a variety of installations, ensuring that electrical systems meet the highest standards while complying with UK regulations.
- The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Install electrical systems, including cable containment, power, data, control cabling, switchgear, and panels
- Maintain high-quality work standards on all types of installations
- Ensure compliance with current UK legislation and regulations
- Drive onsite project progress to meet work timelines
- Work towards achieving registered QS status with the NICEIC
- Conduct electrical installation testing and periodic inspections
- Assist with the commissioning process and work closely with commissioning engineers
- Manage materials on-site to ensure workflow is maintained, advising management on material preferences and new ideas
- Keep accurate records of testing and commissioning
- Uphold best practices on-site, ensuring SSOW and safety rules are followed
- Supervise and mentor less experienced staff and apprentices
- Manage sub-contractors and ensure efficient communication with management on progress and resources
- Support other engineers with duties as required, including non-electrical tasks
Installation Electrician - Qualifications and Experience:
- Full valid driving license and the right to work in the UK
- The Installation Electrician will be an experienced and time served in commercial environments
- Experienced industrial installation electrician, power generation knowledge is an advantage
- 18th Edition BS7671 wiring regulations
- City & Guilds 2391 inspection and testing (or working towards achieving)
- ECS / JIB gold card
- IPAF, PASMA an advantage
- A valid CSCS card to suit the role
