An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Civil Digital Data Enterprise Architect based in Derby. This role reports to the Head of Cyber Security (Civil Aerospace). Here at Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace, we are developing our next generation Digital products, leveraging Big Data and Cloud technologies to enhance and accelerate our Digital and IT capabilities.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Enterprise Architect to join our growing Civil IT organisation with a focus on our digital data & AI strategy. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the digital strategy in our Digital & IT portfolio and will be responsible for enabling the delivery of our overarching strategy and technology across our Civil IT and Digital teams, ensuring data architecture aligns with business goals and enhances our data-driven decision-making capabilities. You need to be capable of enterprise level stakeholder engagement, management, and collaboration.
More specifically in the role, you will provide direction to support Solution Architects who are deployed across Civil IT and Digital teams.
What you’ll be doing:
- Stakeholder engagement and management across Civil Aerospace.
- Establish the data & AI architecture domain, ensuring it supports the organisation’s business strategy and objectives.
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of robust data governance frameworks and practices.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and practices to enhance data management and analytics capabilities, including AI.
- Establish a Civil Aerospace data model.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in establishing and maturing a data architecture domain.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and solve complex business scenarios.
- Working knowledge of TOGAF, DAMA-DMBOK, or similar frameworks is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud data and AI platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) are beneficial.
