The RCoE is a global utility providing reconciliation services across BNY Mellon including reconciliation of over 300 million items a month, reconciliation break reporting and central reconciliation governance. This role plays a leading part in the RCoE\’s Reconciliation Transformation strategy across the whole organization. The role is a Business Analyst who will interact with an array of stakeholders across complex initiatives, ensuring that business requirements are clearly defined, developed (in conjunction with technology), tested, and implemented.
Data is a crucial part of the ongoing strategy for RCoE. We are working on a new Reconciliation Data Framework which can be used in a number of ways to support the lines of business across the organisation. This data will be used to drive down internal and external break numbers and overall risk exposure which is a key focus.
We\’re seeking a future team member for the role of Lead Analyst, Data Management and Quantitative Analysis to join our RCOE Data team. This role is located in Manchester, UK.
In this role, you\’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  1. Partner closely with various stakeholders to influence decisions with data and allow leaders the tools to make key business decisions in a timely manner
  2. Work as part of a team to support line of business areas with more advanced statistical and quantitative analysis. Ability to run models, look for exceptions and take corrective actions where necessary
  3. Use technology tools to conduct analysis; apply techniques such as SQL querying and macro development to extract data for populating models
  4. Gain a good understanding of the relevant processes and products in assigned area and apply this knowledge to decide the most appropriate analysis, methodologies and approaches to support the assessment of performance and risk profile of break population
  5. Interpret findings and prepare initial drafts of standard reports. Prepare ad-hoc reports at the request of managers and/or other leaders
  6. Translate complex technical concepts and analyses to non-technical audiences
  7. Provide analytical support and prepare drafts of standard and ad hoc reports for various areas and stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, we\’re seeking the following:

  1. Bachelor\’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree in quantitative analysis preferred
  2. 3 years of total work experience preferred.
  3. Previous work experience in Data Analytics environment is preferred.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  5. Direct experience with SQL
  6. Familiarity with Tableau or other data visualisation tools
  7. Advanced Excel skills (macros, VBA)
  8. Experience of using Power BI
  9. Team player, proven track record in building effective relationships across global locations
  10. Strong analytical skills, including ability to extract and analyse data
  11. Good attention to detail and a result driven approach
  12. Organised and able to manage workload efficiently
  13. Ability to work under pressure and ensure accurate output under tight timescales
  14. Experience with Machine Learning or Robotics tools (preferred)
