Fantastic opportunity for a motivated and results-driven Senior Buyer / Purchasing professional to undertake a varied, senior role with ongoing development opportunities within a world-class business in support of high-end electro-mechanical products.
This is a varied Senior Procurement / Purchasing role with a blend of both strategic/commercial input together with hands-on tactical procurement responsibility. The Senior Buyer’s role will be to support the current team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment with the opportunity to support key projects and grow your leadership, project, and strategic skills.
As such, as Senior Buyer you will be responsible for both direct purchasing (across a diverse electro-mechanical commodity range) and indirect purchasing with an emphasis on identifying and implementing suitable strategies for cost reduction.
Utilising your purchasing/procurement acumen, key accountabilities will include:
- Supporting the Supply Chain team and acting in a senior purchasing capacity
- Purchasing support for our New Product Development (NPD) projects
- Day-to-day purchasing to support production and management of stock and inventory levels
- Identifying and delivering sourcing, costing and associated strategies that deliver improvements in quality, cost, and lead time reduction.

To succeed you will be a Buyer with 3-5 years prior purchasing expertise gained within an electro-mechanical manufacturing / engineering environment and:
- Electro-mechanical / mechanical / engineering commodity experience required.
- MRP / ERP / SAP system knowledge
- Working knowledge of purchasing, Supplier Contracts, cost down, planning, and stock Management
Likely to suit individuals with a background as: (but not limited to) Buyer, Senior Buyer, Procurement Lead, Commodity Manager, Lead Buyer, Engineering Buyer, Purchasing lead or similar.
