My client, a leading investment bank, is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join their team and contribute to exciting projects within a trading environment. This role requires a highly skilled professional with expertise in network automation, security, and cloud networking. The position involves some weekend work and on-call responsibilities, which are compensated by the business. Given the urgency of this role, my client is looking to onboard someone as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Extensive experience with Palo Alto firewalls, including policy management, threat prevention, and VPN configurations in enterprise environments.
  • Proficient in Python scripting to automate network tasks, configurations, and monitoring, enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Strong expertise in Juniper (MX Series) and Cisco networking, including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and high-availability solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS networking (VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, etc.), with potential exposure to Azure networking.
  • Terraform proficiency for automating network infrastructure deployment and configuration management.
  • Ability to design, implement, and optimise scalable, resilient, and secure network architectures for large enterprises.
  • Expertise in diagnosing complex network issues, packet analysis, and performance tuning across multi-vendor environments.
