A well-established offshore law firm is seeking to appoint a junior associate to its Guernsey-based financial services practice. This role offers a broad platform covering corporate and commercial advisory, investment funds, banking, and regulatory matters, providing an excellent foundation for those looking to develop a career in the offshore legal sector.
Working closely with partners, senior associates and paralegals, the successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, timely advice across a wide variety of transactional and advisory work. There will also be opportunities to support wider strategic and business development initiatives as the practice continues to grow.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with and managing transactions from instruction through to conclusion
- Drafting, reviewing, and analysing legal documents with precision and commercial awareness
- Supporting client relationship and matter management in line with firm policies and compliance procedures
- Contributing to the firm's knowledge and reputation through writing, research, and participation in presentations or seminars
- Engaging in wider practice development initiatives, including cross-selling and promotion of the firm’s capabilities
Applicants will ideally be NQ–2 PQE and admitted in the UK or another recognised Commonwealth jurisdiction. A background or strong interest in corporate, banking or regulatory matters is essential, as is a willingness to develop expertise in Guernsey law. Sound drafting ability, commercial judgment and strong interpersonal skills will be key to success in this role.
