As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll play a key role in the full lifecycle of electrical design projects. From control panel schematics and switchgear layouts to low and high voltage power systems, you'll be involved in both the design and delivery of complex electrical solutions. You'll support onsite commissioning, contribute to continuous improvement, and collaborate closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure projects meet safety, quality, and technical standards.

Location: Havant

Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum depending on experience

What will you be doing?

  • Designing complete electrical systems including control panels, UPS, and generator controllers
  • Producing schematics and wiring diagrams using CAD software
  • Supporting both low and high voltage applications in line with BS7671 and CDM regulations
  • Creating technical documentation including risk assessments and method statements
  • Participating in FAT/SAT testing and on-site commissioning
  • Supporting project delivery with scheduling, resource planning, and change management
  • Working alongside sales teams to provide technical input for quotations and specifications

What do you need?

  • ONC / HNC or higher in Electrical Engineering
  • Proven experience in electrical design, ideally in power or control systems
  • Strong understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations
  • Proficient in CAD and general IT systems
  • Team player with a proactive approach and great attention to detail
  • Experience in PLC programming is a bonus
