Senior Network Programmer (UK Remote)

Aardvark Swift is working with poncle to find a Senior Network Programmer to join their fully remote team.
As a Senior Network Programmer at poncle, you’ll play a key role in developing online features and systems for their projects. Working within a collaborative, cross-disciplinary team, you’ll help build and maintain robust networking solutions using a combination of Unity and poncle’s proprietary tech stack.
Best known for the smash-hit Vampire Survivors, poncle are an award-winning, UK based independent studio. They have big plans for the future, and they’re looking for passionate developers to be part of this journey. The studio operates remotely but also a HQ in London.

Your responsibilities…

• Design and implement reliable, maintainable, and high-quality code.
• Develop and enhance online gameplay systems and features.
• Follow industry best practices, coding standards, and processes.
• Collaborate closely with other engineers, designers, and QA.
• Investigate and integrate new technologies, platforms, and SDKs.

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…

• 2 or more years of network programming experience in the games industry.
• Strong understanding of gameplay networking, backend systems, and online multiplayer features.
• Proven experience developing online game features for published projects.
• Strong skills in C# (experience with Unity is a plus, C++ knowledge is beneficial).
• Ability to work across a varied codebase with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
• Strong communication skills, comfortable working with technical and non-technical colleagues.
