Associate Director, Capital Structure & Rating Advisory Europe

Location: London, GB

Area of interest: Corporate & Commercial Banking

We are seeking an Associate Director to join our Capital Structure & Rating Advisory (CSRA) team. In this role, you will collaborate with Relationship Managers and Product Partners to provide corporate clients with insights into capital structure, ratings, funding strategies, and risk mitigation . This is an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in corporate finance, credit ratings, and financial modelling while working closely with senior advisors.

  • Assist in implementing CSRA’s origination and execution strategy .
  • Support the team in identifying financing needs of our clients and advising on best practice solutions.
  • Develop a strong understanding of market trends, sector developments, and rating methodologies .
  • Prepare financial models and client-ready materials for presentations on capital structure, credit ratings, and financing strategies.
  • Conduct research and analysis on sector trends and credit rating agency methodologies.
  • Work closely with peers to develop presentations and financial insights for client meetings.
  • Maintain and update key work-in-progress files, client pipelines, and internal reporting tools .
  • Support the tracking of rating advisory mandates and ensure compliance with governance frameworks.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of workflows, conflicts of interest, and deal activity .
  • Learn from and collaborate with senior team members to gain hands-on experience in client advisory.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture .

Skills and Experience

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen interest in capital structure and credit ratings.
  • Financial modelling experience in Excel, with the ability to analyze financial statements.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills to develop professional client presentations.
  • Understanding of corporate finance principles, credit rating agencies, and banking products .
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field .
  • Extensive experience in similar roles at rating agencies, debt advisory, or capital structure advisory.
