JGA are partnering with a leading luxury retail organisation seeking a Payroll Team Leader to join on an 8-month fixed-term contract. This role supports business-as-usual payroll operations during a major ERP transition, with integrations involving Resourcelink (Payroll) and Workday (HR).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily workload of the payroll team to ensure accurate, timely payroll delivery.
  • Resolve complex payroll queries and ensure compliance with UK legislation (e.g. PAYE, RTI, NMW, pensions).
  • Supervise, mentor, and support a team of payroll professionals.
  • Assist with audits, year-end processes, and reconciliations.
  • Identify and resolve system issues (Resourcelink), and support testing of new system functionality.
  • Act as a key contact for internal stakeholders and external providers.

About You

  • Experience leading or supervising a payroll team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory obligations.
  • Proficient in payroll systems (Resourcelink preferred) and familiar with HR platforms such as Workday.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • CIPP qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Experience with ERP or payroll system transitions is an advantage.
