The Magnetoencephalography (MEG)/Electroencephalography (EEG) Research Engineer plays a vital role in supporting the daily research operations of the MEG Lab at Simon Fraser University's ImageTech Lab, located in Surrey Memorial Hospital. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate data collection through MEG/EEG scans, including participant preparation and precise equipment operation. Collaborating with research teams, the role contributes to maintaining data integrity, optimizing research protocols, and advancing impactful scientific outcomes. By overseeing the maintenance and troubleshooting of advanced imaging systems, the Research Engineer ensures reliable performance and minimal downtime. Additionally, the position adheres to strict safety standards, educates participants on procedures, and helps maintain a secure and efficient research environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, Clinical Neurophysiology or a relevant field, and two years of experience in a research or clinical setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent knowledge of Magnetoencephalography (MEG) and Electroencephalography (EEG) systems and their applications in research and clinical diagnostics.
- Proficiency in Linux or Unix operating systems and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency in Python and MATLAB.
