The Role: As a Senior Electrical Generator Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality power generation and emergency backup solutions to our Blue Chip clients. You will oversee and manage on-site installations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This role involves overseeing personnel, managing technical requirements, and maintaining excellent client communication. Your hands-on expertise will be essential in adapting to changing project needs, solving complex engineering challenges, and ensuring smooth installations from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understanding power generation control solutions and respective designs
- Managing the technical aspects of projects, from contract scope to execution
- Overseeing high-quality installations, ensuring project completion within schedule and budget
- Supervising and managing large and complex installation projects
- Developing work plans and pricing quotations for installation projects
- Conducting site reviews, pre-installation meetings, and project evaluations
- Reviewing work documentation ahead of scheduled installations
- Leading and coordinating site engineers on projects of varying sizes
- Engaging with suppliers and customers to ensure project success and resolve any challenges
- Reacting to on-site conditions, making informed decisions to address challenges and scope changes
- Assisting in developing and implementing work practices, procedures, and performance standards
- Training and mentoring installation personnel
- Maintaining administrative records, including timesheets, documentation, and order changes
- Communicating and documenting project status as per company procedures
Qualifications, Skills, Training & Experience:
- Full, valid UK driving license and the right to work in the UK
- Experience as a commercial installation electrician
- SMSTS and ECS cardholder
- Apprentice trained
- Extensive knowledge of power generation solutions
- Familiarity with ComAp products (preferred but not essential)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and electrical installation expertise
- Proficiency with tools, equipment, and material handling
- Excellent planning, organisational, and decision-making skills
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration abilities
- Punctual, self-motivated, and possessing a strong work ethic
- Willing to work irregular hours and extended shifts as required at UK sites
