About The Role: We’re looking for a UK based Social Media Manager to join Memezar’s social team on a permanent basis. The role is pivotal in creating reactive and innovative content across our flagship social pages, alongside our industry-leading team of social experts. The Social Media Manager will help develop and create social content across platforms including Instagram, TikTok and X on our flagship brand Memezar as well as leading a team of social media editors. You’ll be responsible for pre-planning content around tentpole events and ensuring the team are reactive to internet culture. This role is ideal for a social expert who has a deep understanding of social platforms alongside an encyclopaedic knowledge of meme/internet culture.
What The Opportunity Looks Like:
- Managing a small group of freelancers and their output on the Memezar brand.
- Creating engaging content and publishing across all platforms for our flagship brand Memezar.
- Assisting the Commercial team with insights and ideation for paid campaigns.
- Bringing new ideas to the wider team and developing, trialing & analyzing said formats for Memezar.
- Monitoring content insights using social media analysis tools and reporting those learnings to the wider team.
- Supporting our social video team where necessary on monetized channels.
Skills and Experience We’d Like You To Have:
- Minimum of 3 years social media content creation with a focus on Instagram.
- Previous management of a meme page is a plus but not a necessity.
- Strong planning and time management to efficiently look ahead at tentpole moments in our editorial calendar.
- Team management experience.
- An excellent knowledge of the pop culture landscape.
- Strong skills in Adobe Photoshop and Canva - Premiere is a bonus.
- An encyclopaedic knowledge of other publishers and brands in the social media landscape.
