Our Client Lewisham Council is looking for a Qualified Social Worker to join their Community Mental Health Team. The CMHT offers support and a range of interventions for adults of working age who have serious long-term mental health conditions. The social worker will act as a care coordinator alongside colleagues from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation and the voluntary sector. They will hold a caseload of people on CPA, as well as covering the team duty rota and leading on adult safeguarding and Care Act assessments within the multi-disciplinary team.

The Neighbourhood 1 CMHT is based in Deptford a stone's throw from the vibrant and bustling local high street and offers excellent transport links.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience of adult mental health casework in a community mental health setting.
  • Strong assessment and engagement skills.
  • Knowledge of clinical and social issues and the management of risk in relation to mental health service-users.
  • Experience of working within the statutory framework of the CA 2014, MHA 1983 and MCA 2005.
  • The ability to manage a caseload in an integrated multi-disciplinary service undertaking fast-moving casework and regular MDT duties on rota.
  • Experience of carrying out a range of assessments and interventions including adult safeguarding.

  • QSW Status - including qualification, Social Work England registration and completed ASYE
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience
