Edenbrook are working with a leading Global Insurer who are seeking to hire a Finance Business Partner for their Life Insurance business. The role will be to support the UK Life business to deliver their commercial strategy, working with them to develop and deliver the financial plan and act as the key contact for all finance topics. The role will lead the wider UK Life Finance Business Partnering team and report to the UK Life CFO, deputising where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support UK Life in understanding and improving their financial performance, providing insights to guide their strategy for better results.
- Build strong relationships within the UK Life business, becoming a trusted finance partner and presenting financial insights in leadership meetings.
- Lead the UK Life Finance team, fostering a positive culture and supporting improvements in reporting and planning processes.
- Ensure financial models and projections are accurate with proper controls, documentation, and testing.
- Develop ad-hoc financial models and analyses to support business initiatives.
- Monitor financial performance against plans and forecasts, providing support to ensure targets are met.
- Help the UK Life CFO with the annual planning cycle and ensure it aligns with UK & Group timelines.
- Provide analytical tools to help the senior management team track the performance of UK Lifeβs products and services.
- Support UK Life Business Unit Reviews, preparing reports for the CEO, CFO, and Group level.
- Advise on new business opportunities and provide financial input for business initiatives.
- Assist the CFO in preparing Board and Committee reports, including quarterly updates.
- Help with ad-hoc requests and analysis for the CFO.
- Support transformation efforts in Finance and UK Life.
- Lead and mentor the UK Life finance team, working with other teams to develop financial plans and reports.
- Serve as a senior leader in the Finance team, demonstrating strong leadership and driving finance projects.
- Stay updated on industry trends and understand their impact on performance compared to competitors.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Excellent leadership experience β leading an experienced team through coaching, developing and evolving the team to be senior leaders of the future.
- Extensive experience in building and managing relationships with varied stakeholders at a senior level.
- Excellent understanding of the UK financial performance framework - prior knowledge and understanding of the UK Life Business, including relevant experience of IFRS17, would be useful.
- Ability to deliver complex financial analysis and to be a subject matter expert for complex financial queries relating to all aspects of financial performance.
- Experience of acting as a conduit between finance and the business units and support functions.
- Influencing or negotiating and communicating at a senior level.
- Analytical thinker with strong business acumen.
- Fully qualified accountant, or relevant qualification, with extensive experience leading a team in the UK.
- A thought leader who can lead from the front and support the business strategy.
