We are working with a fast-growing business who specialise in SDLT (Stamp Duty Land Tax) reclaims. They work across the legal, tax, and property sectors, and help individuals and businesses recover overpaid SDLT in line with the latest HMRC guidance. The wider group consists of professional services companies, and you'll benefit from in-house legal, financial, and marketing support. Role Overview

As an Assistant Tax Advisor, you will support the wider team in reviewing property transactions for potential SDLT reclaims, preparing submission documents, and liaising with clients and external professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in reviewing property transaction documents for SDLT reclaim opportunities
  • Support senior advisors in analysing title deeds, contracts, and land registry information
  • Help prepare accurate, compliant submissions to HMRC
  • Maintain case records and update internal systems
  • Communicate with clients, solicitors, and HMRC under supervision
  • Stay up to date with relevant SDLT legislation and guidance
  • Contribute to team discussions and continuous improvement of processes
  • Take an active role in your professional development, including CTA studies

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Some prior experience or academic background in tax, law, property, or finance (e.g. graduate, paralegal, conveyancing assistant, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general IT systems

Salary, Package and Benefits

£30,000-£32,000 per annum
