The role of Operations Director will involve managing a dynamic team and ensuring the smooth running of operations. In this newly created role for the business, this is the perfect opportunity to take on a key leadership role and make a real impact on operational performance, in a role where you can drive change and help shape the future of the business.
The Operations Director will be responsible for:
- Managing and leading key department heads, including Production, Materials, and Engineering, with 5 direct and approximately 100 indirect reports.
- Ensuring high-performance and developing a skills matrix for continued development.
- Overseeing daily operations, developing efficient plans, and collaborating with the management team to streamline workflows and optimise production.
- Maintaining timely, quality-driven delivery of orders, meeting quoted lead times and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Identifying areas for improvement, reducing indirect time, and upholding the right first time approach to maintain high standards of productivity and quality.
- Ensuring a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety standards, promoting a culture of safety across all teams.
To be successful in your application for this Operations Director role you will need:
- Experience managing operations in a high value, low volume precision engineering environment.
- Management experience of teams totalling circa 100 people, including appraisals and people development.
- Strong knowledge of best practices, with the ability to bring innovative ideas to the table.
- Commercially aware, understanding the importance of on-time delivery and proactive planning to avoid delays.
