Join Our Team at Oldham College! Are you passionate about shaping the next generation of hairdressing and barbering professionals? Oldham College is seeking a Tutor Assessor in Hairdressing & Barbering to join our vibrant and committed team on a temporary basis for 12 months!

Role Overview: As a Tutor Assessor, you will work closely with learners and employers to deliver exceptional work-based assessment, training, and support services. Your expertise will empower learners to achieve qualifications, build outstanding portfolios, and prepare for End Point Assessments (EPA) while fostering strong professional relationships with industry partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of work-based learners, conducting initial assessments and tailoring individual learning plans.
  • Deliver training and assessment to develop learners' skills, knowledge, and behaviours (SKB) in line with job roles and qualification standards.
  • Ensure quality assurance and compliance with awarding organisation and college standards.
  • Provide guidance, encouragement, and progress tracking for learners through to successful completion.
  • Embed functional skills and personal development within the vocational curriculum.
  • Engage with employers to identify training needs and align workforce development with business goals.
  • Promote safeguarding, equality, and excellent customer service in all aspects of the role.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant occupational area.
  • Assessor qualification (or commitment to achieve within two years).
  • Quality assurance and teaching qualifications (achievable within two years if not already obtained).
  • At least two years post-qualification experience in the hairdressing/barbering industry.
  • Knowledge of work-based learning and health & safety best practices.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in IT and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
