Company Introduction: My Client, a UK-based Telecommunications company, is currently seeking a Nokia Radio Design Engineer to come onboard and assist in the delivery of 4G/5G radio design for their internal customers.
Job Responsibilities/Objectives:
- Work closely with Planning and Strategy teams to translate the business requirements into relevant designs and produce HLDs as appropriate.
- Work closely with other teams like Regions to identify performance issues and take remedial measures as appropriate to improve network performance.
- Provide input into the Software Drop Selection process for RAN vendors in line with the operational and design requirements.
- Provide HLD, LLD & KPI documents for new RAN software in line with the project requirements.
- Analyse inputs provided by 3rd party performance benchmarking companies and take appropriate action.
- Identify areas for improvement in the RAN SW from a solution perspective.
Requires a full in-depth knowledge and understanding of the LTE & 5G NR (NSA & SA) technologies. Prior experience of working on Nokia RAN preferable. Requires an in-depth understanding of 4G/5G (NSA & SA) network architecture and software feature capabilities. Prior experience of managing 4G/5G RAN parameters in the LIVE network. Prior experience of handling SW/HW feature testing/Trialling in the testbed and in the LIVE environments.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Experience working in RAN/Nokia design.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, in particular a proven record in developing and presenting Technical Workshops ranging from Executive to Field Engineering knowledge base.
- Detailed understanding of 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G technologies with a sound understanding of functioning RAN networks.
- Fully conversant and proficient with all Microsoft Office software packages; Network admin experience ideal, vendor management suites (i.e., NetACT) ideal.
