Your new role is a new role within Group Sustainability, responsible for supporting ESG / Sustainability reporting activities required by a UK PLC and facilitating the GHG data collection process including the management of external assurance and verification. The role will support the Group Head of Sustainability in discovering improvement opportunities as highlighted by reporting and benchmark performance and increasing legislative requirements, such as the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive.
Enabling Timely & Evidenced Sustainability Reporting- Facilitate the annual GHG Reporting Process ensuring adherence to the timeline, the keeping of records, the clarity of roles, expectations and requirements for Data Collectors and Data Approvers and the timely close out of data queries.
- Manage assurance and verification activities.
- Facilitate the flow of information, liaising between group-wide contacts, external consultants and assurance and verification service providers.
- Manage the collation of information to support relevant disclosures and benchmark performance. This will include Investor ESG ratings, client questionnaires and assessments such as EcoVadis.
- Participation in the annual CDP submission and improvement planning.
- Sourcing of group-wide information to support the communication of Group ESG commitments and performance.
- Refreshing and updating the sustainability related information published online.
- Being a point of contact with external advisors and membership groups, including ClimatePartner, Auditors, UN Global Compact, CDP, IEMA, Slave-Free Alliance and EcoVadis.
- Deliver communications that help engage employees with the environmental agenda and provide bid teams with information relevant to winning business.
- Keep pace with the evolving environmental and climate agenda in practices as informed by CDP, SBTi and IEMA.
- Help engage landlords and suppliers with our environmental agenda to enhance data quality and progress working practices aligned to our Group Environmental Policy.
- Work with the Group Head of Sustainability on key workstreams to enhance performance as reflected in stakeholder feedback, client bids, ESG ratings and relevant benchmarks such as EcoVadis.
- Prepare for forums such as the Net Zero Working Group, Climate Committee, Green Labs, Modern Slavery Working Group and regional ESG contact updates.
- Work with internal stakeholders and subject-matter experts across Comms, People & Culture, COSEC, Sustainability and the Green Labs network.
- Sustainability related qualifications desirable or 3+ years' experience.
- Experience of Sustainability Reporting Frameworks (EcoVadis, CDP) preferred.
- Awareness of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the UN Global Compact.
- An understanding of GHG Reporting including assurance and verification.
- Working with and influencing stakeholders.
- Convening and presenting at meetings.
- Producing comms/support materials.
- Diligent, organised and logical approach.
- Ability to build relationships and reach out to elicit required information.
- Good communication skills, both orally and written.
