We are recruiting for a Graduate Management Accountant to join our team based in Castle Donington. This is a wide and varied position, spending time within the 3 Finance pillars of our organisation, gaining valuable experience across all finance functions with mentor support. The main roles and objectives of the 3 Finance Pillars include:
- Finance Operations: Financial control, accounts receivable, accounts payable and accounting operations.
- FP&A: Finance planning and analysis, providing forward looking insight and analytics on financial and non-financials.
- Finance Business Partnering: Drive the realisation of the financial objectives and create value. Co-leading change management.
The role is based at our Mediq UK HQ in Castle Donington, with occasional visits/meetings off site at Theobalds Enterprise centre in Cheshunt. Support will be provided for ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualification.
Responsibilities
- Finance Operations: Management accounts GL postings, accruals/prepayments, account reconciliations, assisting with period-end and year-end close and reporting, assisting with month-end close and internal/external audits, ad hoc financial and administrative duties.
- Purchase ledger: Posting supplier invoices to the nominal ledger and dealing with any queries, matching of trade supplier invoices to PO, assisting in the authorisation of non-trade supplier invoices, preparation of supplier payment runs to terms, allocating supplier payments, reconciling supplier statements, maintain batch invoice processing and spreadsheets for month end.
- Sales ledger: Matching customer receipts, highlighting issues with customer payments, requesting ‘promises to pay’ etc. to ensure payments are received to terms, assisting with overdue debtor collection.
- Bank: Bank reconciliations, cashflow management.
- FP&A: Assisting with monthly/quarterly forecasts, assist with/insight into the annual budgeting process, undertake regular analytical reviews including costs analysis and year on year comparisons, ad hoc reconciliations (stocks/sales).
- Finance Business Partnering: Support business functions with financial management, particularly in relation to understanding and analysing their current financial performance, coordinate implementation of financial improvement action plans across multiple departments and use influencing skills to persuade stakeholders to prioritise these initiatives, assist in financial modelling for bids and tenders, growth opportunities, business cases, and other margin expansion projects, collaborate with stakeholders across multiple departments.
