A skilled and customer-focused Mechanical Engineer is sought to join an established and highly regarded business. This is a field-based role, supporting a range of commercial and residential projects during the post-completion defect period (12 to 24 months).
The successful candidate will be responsible for attending client sites to investigate and resolve mechanical issues, as well as carrying out routine planned maintenance. Projects are primarily located across the Midlands, including Birmingham, Nottingham, and Warwickshire.
Key Responsibilities:- Attend scheduled visits to identify and resolve mechanical defects such as leaks, faulty toilets, heating and boiler issues.
- Conduct fault finding and remedial work, reporting back with material requirements and job updates.
- Complete planned maintenance checks on systems including boilers, hot and cold water supply, heating, and ventilation.
- Carry out small mechanical works for a range of commercial clients.
- Maintain a high level of customer service and professional conduct while on site.
- A minimum of five years experience in mechanical building services (installation or maintenance).
- NVQ in Plumbing (domestic and commercial).
- NVQ in Heating and Ventilation.
- Gas Safe registered (domestic as a minimum).
- Valid CSCS trade card.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Strong fault-finding skills and attention to detail.
