Join to apply for the Audit Technical Director role at Azets. The Azets Quality & Technical Team are looking for a new Technical Director to lead the support of our client facing teams and provide thought leadership on technical and practical audit and financial reporting matters.

Key accountabilities:
- Providing technical & practical support for our teams: Offer real-time technical support and advice on complex audit, financial reporting issues, and ethical issues helping teams navigate challenges and apply best practices.
- Resource Allocation: Manage and allocate technical resources based on project needs and priorities, ensuring optimal support and performance.
- Leading the development of resources:
- Knowledge Management: Develop and maintain a comprehensive repository of audit, financial reporting and ethics knowledge, including technical guides, best practice manuals, and regulatory updates.
- Thought Leadership: Lead the firm’s thought leadership initiatives by publishing influential articles, whitepapers, and presentations on emerging audit and reporting trends and technical issues, positioning the firm as an industry leader.
- Research and Development: Lead research initiatives to explore new practices, ensuring the firm remains at the forefront of the industry.
- Continuous improvement: Work with our Audit Quality and Technology Team on continuous improvement of the firm’s audit methodology, ensuring it represents industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Quality monitoring: Conduct regular internal reviews to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards, providing specialist technical input into the firm’s wider monitoring of engagements and its system of quality management.
- External reviews: Liaise with external quality monitoring teams and provide support to Azets team members when responding to regulatory monitoring findings.
- Regulatory Expertise: Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of developments in UK and international audit and reporting regulations, standards, and best practices, ensuring the firm’s approach is always compliant and up-to-date.
- Sector Specialisation: Develop specialised knowledge in key sectors relevant to the firm’s client base, providing tailored audit solutions and insights.
- Advanced Technical Skills: Demonstrate advanced technical skills in areas such as financial reporting, risk assessment, and audit planning, setting a benchmark for the audit quality and technical team.
