Following continued growth across the business, we have an opportunity for a Motor Technical Underwriting Expert to join our Chief Underwriting Office (CUO) within Commercial Lines. This is a great job for someone with Motor Technical Underwriting experience who wishes to work with a supportive and collaborative team!
A bit about the job:
- Within the role, you will provide strategic direction for new and emerging risks and opportunities in Commercial Motor, including considerations on pricing, risk selection and the management of risk.
- You will define the risk acceptance and risk management criteria for all Motor lines.
- You will focus and provide insights through in-depth portfolio analysis for the team, motor distribution areas and business partner calls while also providing overview and share insights of the Motor portfolio performance during collaboration meetings and wider engagements.
- You will be responsible for supporting the development of our underwriting capability to underwrite complex business and building confidence in others to do the same.
- You will also support the creation and development of our products to deliver market-leading propositions for our customers.
- In this role, you will assist the team with reviews of technical issues, highlight any trends such as theft, and propose remediations to reduce risk, exploit opportunities, and reduce blockages while building effective working relationships with key stakeholders within both the CUO office and across the wider stakeholders within Aviva, including external stakeholders.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Good experience and knowledge of Motor underwriting with the ability to deliver solutions on complex issues.
- The ability to think strategically and analyse performance data and the impact of changing risks over the medium and long-term landscape.
- Experience of supporting on deep dive activities and the ability to analyse information and provide a comprehensive review and suggestions of remediation.
- Adaptable and versatile to diverse working conditions depending on requirements within the team.
- An awareness of how to implement strategy and how this is influenced by operational considerations.
