As a pivotal retailer for the PC Business Unit, the role of the ASDA Customer Account Manager (CAM) is to drive market-leading growth, delivering market share growth for Unilever and conversion for ASDA with our portfolio of top-tier brands. This role encompasses day-to-day account management, strategic planning, bespoke activation, and long-term business partnership development.

Job Purpose: The Senior Customer Account Manager is tasked with fostering strong relationships with the ASDA buying team, developing and executing customer business plans at a category level to achieve USG, market share, and profitability targets. This role involves daily interactions with customer buyers, supply chain, shopper marketing, and internal category and brand contacts.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Customer Service: Lead the Customer/Unilever relationship within your categories, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
  • Shopper Insight: Grow categories through insights and exceed shopper expectations.
  • Digital Proficiency: Confidently discuss and implement digital strategies.
  • Commercial Rigor: Apply extensive commercial rigor in assessing and implementing growth strategies to advance the Joint Business Plan (JBP).
  • Category-Based Selling: Enhance space, distribution, range, and POS for your business through category-based selling.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong, sustainable customer relationships.
  • Negotiate effectively to meet OKRs.
  • Develop and deliver strategic business plans for the Beauty category.
  • Agree on a share-winning trade plan.
  • Manage promotional and non-promotional investments, ensuring all agreements are documented and stored.
  • Oversee the launch and performance tracking of new products with customers.
  • Ensure effective in-store activation of key events.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage the customer P&L to meet allocated targets.
  • Monitor in-month performance versus forecast.
  • Accurately manage accruals and pricing.
  • Ensure customer compliance with agreed trade terms.
  • Conduct S&OP forecasting.
  • Provide regular performance data and updates to CSP and the BU.
  • Maintain up-to-date JBP tracking, forecasting, and projecting to keep the business on target.
  • Handle required administrative tasks for the customer, including pricing, rebates, NLF, promo proposals, trade terms, and contracts.

Key Deliverables: Achieve key business goals. Fulfil job fundamentals as outlined in the Customer Category Framework.

Key Experience and Qualifications Required:

  • Previous experience in a Senior CAM role.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Preferable experience in a commercial & strategy role, or category management.
