Simmons and Hanbury have been exclusively instructed by a global and fast-growing fintech business on a new Senior Legal Counsel position based in London. The role could be filled on a hybrid or remote basis with 1-2 days a month in London. It is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-caliber business, with management responsibility of a small team underneath you and reporting directly to the Deputy GC. This is an opportunity to accelerate your career and gain experience leading you towards Deputy GC or GC in the future.
The role is broad, but with a focus on regulatory and advisory and working with Product teams. The role includes:
- International regulatory and advisory as the business grows and sets up its regulatory frameworks.
- Team management and development of 3 legal staff.
- Privacy advisory.
- Support on corporate and governance matters.
- Risk advisory and issue spotting.
Experience requirements:
- 5+ PQE years experience*
- Strong academic background.
- In-house experience preferably in a high-growth company with broad experience.
- Experience working in areas such as fintech, payments or consumer tech/financial services.
- Strong commercial awareness, conviction, and willingness to provide considered, practical and calibrated advice.
