We are looking for a Global Category Leader to join our Procurement & Supply Chain team. This is a permanent position paying from £67,000 to £86,000 along with a market-leading benefits package.

Are you an experienced procurement professional with a passion for strategic sourcing and marketing? We have an exciting opportunity for a Global Category Leader - Marketing to join our UK Procurement Team, part of E.ON’s functionally led Supply Chain organisation. In this role, you will be responsible for the company-wide management of the Marketing category, driving strategic and tactical sourcing for key services such as media buying, creative agencies, digital marketing, print, market/customer research, and promotional items. Working in close collaboration with the business, both globally and regionally, you will leverage the full strength of the E.ON Group to deliver value-driven procurement solutions.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement marketing sourcing strategies to drive value creation, cost savings, standardisation, and supplier innovation.
- Lead and mentor a team of Marketing Category Managers across regional businesses, ensuring knowledge-sharing, skill development, and effective execution of category strategies.
- Collaborate with key business stakeholders at corporate and regional levels to align on strategic priorities, provide transparency on value opportunities, and navigate trade-offs.
- Negotiate key contracts and manage supplier relationships, including dispute resolution and performance management.
- Monitor and analyse market trends in collaboration with Supply Chain Excellence, using insights to identify new business opportunities and enhance supplier value propositions.
- Represent the E.ON brand as an ambassador, driving a culture of innovation, collaboration, and strategic impact.
- Supply chain/Commercial Experience: Proven experience operating in supply chain (or equally commercial roles), managing complex negotiations, contract/deal structuring and contract management.
- Strategic and customer thinking: Ability to translate customer/market insights into tangible opportunities to create value.
- People: Ability to form strong relationships with key stakeholders, building on mutual trust. Strong people management skills to create an ambitious, high-performing team, where individuals can unlock their full potential. Experience working internationally and/or in matrix structures advantageous.
- Marketing: Good knowledge of the marketing functions and what best practices look like. Well informed and curious about industry developments in the sector. Experience within client marketing teams or in marketing suppliers/agencies advantageous.
