MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: My client Exports to over 85 countries worldwide with two subsidiary companies located in the USA and Germany. The main purpose of the role is to ensure that all UK administration for our customer orders are processed in an efficient, cost effective and timely manner. This is a 3 month fixed term contract.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To support the management of the Central Distribution Warehouse, including the shipping administration team and warehouse.
  • Ensure that all UK despatches are completed on a daily basis and that accurate freight charges are applied to invoices.
  • To book UK customers freight forwarders upon receipt of paperwork and ensure that all relevant documentation is attached to accompany goods.
  • To ensure that all outstanding collections are monitored on a weekly basis and forwarders chased on collections not made.
  • To administer an effective booking system with customers/forwarders for smooth running of the Central Distribution Warehouse.
  • To ensure that all invoice files are filed correctly with all required paperwork. Proof of export obtained where necessary.
  • To assist all Departments with any queries they may have about their UK customer’s shipments.

Educational/Qualifications:

  • GCSE (or equivalent) Maths, English.

Knowledge/experience:

  • Problem solving skills.
  • Working in an office environment.

Skills/abilities:

  • Computer literate – experience in using Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Positive and pleasant telephone manner.

Personal Qualities:

  • Be able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Good leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Drive to achieve good results.
