YOUR ROLE
Join our dynamic team in Daventry as a Transport Supervisor! In this role, you\’ll play a key part in keeping our Transport Office running smoothly, safely, and efficiently, ensuring we not only meet but exceed customer expectations. This is a Monday to Friday role, 14:00-22:30.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Reporting into the General Manager you will manage the day-to-day transport operation, driver management, fleet compliance and ensure service level agreements are maintained in line with contractual requirements. You also will:
- Manage all site employees including any subcontractors and agency staff, in line with current legislation, company policies and procedures.
- Provide and maintain efficient and effective support for the site as required, ensuring planning of orders is effective and efficient, managing all POD activity to demonstrate full audit trail.
- Ensure all traffic office functions are carried out in line with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all activities are undertaken in accordance with the current legislation, company policies and procedures and best practice.
- Ensure full legal compliance across all areas, including drivers’ hours, Vehicle Off-Road (VOR) processes, MOT scheduling, and the regular servicing of trucks and trailers.
- Ensure office-based Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are consistently met and maintained.
- Conduct root cause analysis on operational issues to identify areas for resolution and prevention and identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost reduction initiatives.
- Fulfil customer requirements to the highest possible standards, working closely with the warehouse team to ensure a consistent service is delivered.
- Contribute effectively to a team environment, ensuring housekeeping standards are applied and adhered to in-line with SCA requirements.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Our ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in a transport environment, along with knowledge of tachograph legislation and working time directive. You will have excellent communication skills and will have the ability to work as part of a team and using your own initiative in a busy environment. You will use organisation and time management skills to delegate tasks, as well as being customer focused and a confident decision maker. You will be IT literate with the ability to use MS Office packages.
