We are seeking a motivated Quality Improvement Coach with expertise in Dental to drive exceptional quality improvement across our learner experience. In this role, you will support Tutor Assessors to enhance teaching, learning, and overall learner progress. You will be instrumental in creating a culture of continuous improvement and providing actionable feedback. The role of a Quality Improvement Coach is to ensure that our tutors and assessors have the support they need to meet our Tempdent pledge ‘to educate and empower the next generation of dental professionals through advanced training and apprenticeships, and open doors into an inclusive and diverse dental sector through our specialist recruitment service’. Throughout the whole learner journey, this role will provide practical solutions and support assessors in the delivery of innovative teaching and learning. Please note this is a 12 month fixed term contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development of the curriculum for the Level 3 apprenticeship course alongside the curriculum team.
- Support the curriculum team with the launch of any new programmes and identify and support areas of improvement for current and existing programmes.
- Conduct learning experience reviews with your allocated assessors.
- Conduct “deep dives” into curriculum areas based around the Education Inspection Framework (EIF) and provide feedback and support to drive continuous improvement.
- Improve the quality of teaching through observations feedback, 1-1 support, coaching, CPD sessions and creating a culture of sharing best practice across the assessing team and wider business.
- Liaise with Performance Leads to ensure actions from LER and deep dive activities are discussed in individual 1-1s and met by assessors.
- Devise and deliver regular CPD sessions for PTs (and wider business) on topics needed to improve the quality of the learner experience.
- Conduct regular formative and summative sampling of learner’s portfolios with your allocated assessors.
- Support and undertake EQA visits under the direction of Curriculum (Lead IQA) Manager to ensure Awarding Organisation compliance.
- Plan and conduct regular standardisation meetings to ensure consistency of assessor delivery through LER and deep dive assessment practices.
- Support the Quality Assurance Manager with EQA visits where required.
- Mentor assessors for their initial 6 months in post.
- Provide technical information, advice and support on apprenticeship standards and qualifications, communicating regular updates to the wider business.
- Contribute towards and lead on aspects of the Self-Assessment Report and Quality Improvement Plan.
- Support BDMs to recruit the right learners including shadowing and reviewing materials used.
- Analyse learner and employer feedback and Power BI reports, and implement actions to alleviate potential risks and concerns.
- Support assessors who have or are due to have learners exceed their planned end dates.
- Support the improvement of success rates and QAR.
- Proactively promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people you are responsible for or come into contact.
Requirements:
- Experience of assessing the Dental Diploma/Level 3 Apprenticeship.
- Assessor qualification (CAVA, TAQA, A1 or equivalent).
- Teaching qualification.
- GDC registration.
- Experience of working within or an in-depth understanding of the apprenticeships/further education sector.
- Experience of delivering effective teaching and learning to a diverse range of learners.
- Experience of using quality improvement principles to positively impact the learner experience.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Education Inspection Framework (EIF) and Ofsted.

- 20 days annual leave (increasing with length of service plus bank holidays).
