We work hard to provide a culture where everyone feels supported, and our employees feel it—their votes helped us become one of Newsweek's Top 100 Global Most Loved Workplaces. We think of ourselves as the team behind the team, supporting the lifelong impact sports can have: the lessons in teamwork and dedication; the influence of inspiring coaches; and the opportunities to reach new heights. That’s why we help teams from all over the world see their game differently. Our products make it easier for coaches and athletes at any level to capture video, analyze data, share highlights and more.
Your Role
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our first product teams in Mumbai. You’ll be improving the operations of our internal team of sports analysts across Hudl Assist, Wyscout, InStat and Volleymetrics products. These products are used by thousands of teams around the world, from youth clubs to the pros.
- Improving the tools used to deliver training to sports analysts
- Instrumenting our processes to facilitate continuous improvement for our operations team
- Iterating on manual data collection workflows to improve speed and accuracy
As an Engineer, you’ll:
- Work with a cross-functional team. You’ll collaborate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Product, Design and Scrum disciplines to deliver full-stack web features. With our global team, these team members and stakeholders are located all over the world—so you may need to work evenings a few days a week.
- Test new ideas. At Hudl, we iterate rapidly, deploying changes to the product hundreds of times a day across our Engineering team. Outside of working on concrete features, you’ll have the opportunity to propose solutions to more ambiguous technical problems and provide guidance to less experienced engineers.
- Help improve analysis. You’ll work to improve training tools, processes and manual data collection workflows used by our sports analysts to improve their speed and accuracy.
This role requires 5 days in the office per week, so we're currently considering candidates who live within a commuting distance of our offices in Mumbai.
Must-Haves
- Exposure to mature, full-stack web applications. You have at least 4 years' commercial experience building across most or all levels of a web application, from the client-side code, all the way down to the database. Direct background in our core technologies (C# & Typescript) would be a plus.
- Comfortable with uncertainty. You appreciate ambiguous work that has many possible implementation options because it gives you the chance to identify the best solution that pragmatically balances quality, consistency and delivering immediate customer value.
- English language proficiency. You have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexible schedule. We strive to maintain a healthy work-life balance, but in this role, it will be necessary for your schedule to overlap with stakeholders and collaborators across time zones.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience working with cross-cultural remote teams. Our product team is currently spread across the U.S. and Europe, and remote collaboration skills will be part of the job.
Our Role
- Champion work-life harmony. We’ll give you the flexibility you need in your work life (e.g., national and public holidays and timeout (meeting-free) days) so you can enjoy your personal life too.
- Guarantee autonomy. We have an open, honest culture and we trust our people from day one. Your team will support you, but you’ll own your work and have the agency to try new ideas.
- Encourage career growth. We’re lifelong learners who encourage professional development. We’ll give you tons of resources and opportunities to keep growing.
- Provide an environment to help you succeed. We’ve invested in our offices, designing incredible spaces with our employees in mind. We’ll also provide you the tech stack and hardware to do your best work.
- Cover your medical insurance. We’ll provide both medical and accidental coverage for you.
- Retiral benefits. Provident fund and Gratuity.
Compensation
