About the Role
HL is at an exciting time of its evolution as the UK's leading wealth provider, and we have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Transfers to drive the transformation of our Transfers function. You will be leading a large Operation (circa 250 FTE) which delivers the Transfer Strategy and Service at HL, inputting into the wider strategic direction of the overall Service function. You will be accountable for delivery of the plan for the function and outstanding client service, through highly effective leadership and management of people, processes, suppliers and risks.
What you'll be doing:
- Accountable leader for the transfers function at HL, delivering a client-focused and efficient service that is always on, continually improving and facilitates transfer of client assets in a compliant and timely manner.
- Accountable for setting and ensuring teams deliver service targets (SLAs, QA, Complaints, breaches etc) through appropriate resource, process, third party, supplier and risk management.
- Lead and develop people, drive engagement, promote diversity and inclusion, develop talent and manage succession planning within the Function; role model the HL values and support career progression and development opportunities.
- Oversee all transfer activity and monitor trends; continually optimise processes and capabilities to support forecast volumes.
- Make business cases for investment in service or capability, as appropriate.
- Accountable for running an effective control environment, overseeing processes and controls and operating in accordance with relevant policies within risk appetite.
- Responsible for ensuring transfer processes comply with relevant regulation and legislation; actively scan the internal and external environment.
- Manage contracts and relationships with HL's suppliers and trading partners, including service reviews, contract renewals and cost reviews.
- Represent HL at a senior level at Transfer Industry Groups, Steering Groups and forums.
About you:
- Excellent communicator and outstanding leader; able to engage positively with colleagues at all levels across the business, third parties and suppliers.
- Highly numerate, with sound analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Able to understand and simplify complex problems and implement innovative, compliant solutions.
- Significant leadership experience within a multi-disciplinary operations/back office/contact centre environment.
- Good knowledge of transfer processes, the industry, relevant regulation and capabilities.
- Experience of managing managers and large teams to drive positive outcomes for clients, colleagues and the business.
- Demonstrable experience of large-scale operational change.
Interview process:
This will be a two-stage interview process consisting of competency-based questions and a presentation.
Working Schedule:
The role is based in our Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. For this role we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern, with a requirement for you to be in the office 3 days a week.
