Hutcheon Mearns is delighted to be supporting our client, based in Dundee, to appoint an Interim Financial Controller. Reporting to the CFO, you will support a transition period in the business requiring additional resource to ensure the continuity and handover from the current Head of Finance. For the right candidate, there may be the opportunity for a permanent role but short term priorities will be knowledge transfer and supporting financial reporting using a recently implemented ERP system.
The Opportunity
- Working within a small finance team, you will take on a varied remit which may include:
- Preparing management accounts reports
- Cost Centre / departmental reporting
- Gross margin analysis and reporting
- Stock and inventory reporting including data cleansing activities
- Ensuring the accuracy of project reporting including correct allocation of costs
- R & D reporting
- Business process mapping including data cleansing on the ERP system
The Candidate
You will be an experienced Accountant with particular strength in systems, preferably ERP systems such as BusinessCentral. You will have a high level of proficiency using Microsoft Excel and may have been involved in data cleansing activities previously perhaps during a systems implementation or improvement project. You will have strong communication skills and an ability to work on your own initiative. Experience of working in a similar role and at Finance Manager / Controller level would be highly desirable. You will be available to start in April and will be able to work on a hybrid basis with an expectation of being in the Dundee office at least 2 days per week.
